James Wild is encouraging local groups to apply for National Lottery funding as new figures reveal £40 million had been distributed to local projects since its launch.
The National Lottery supports good causes across the country as a way to bring positive change to communities. Since the first draw was held in 1994, they have raised over £49 billion for local causes and awarded over 690,000 individual grants to projects and organisations, making a real difference to local communities.
In total, The National Lottery has distributed £39,693,360.00 to good causes in North West Norfolk, benefitting 866 local projects. They funded various local projects in the arts, sport, heritage, charity, voluntary, health, education and environmental sectors.
The National Lottery have funded hundreds of local good causes and project such as the Hunstanton Men’s Shed, Pandora Project, Norfolk Blood Bikes, Rudham Parish Council, Linnets In The Community, Little Discoverers West Norfolk School for Parents, Little Miracles, Music in Thorpe CIC, North Lynn Methodist Church, The Wild Hub CIC, Hanseatic Union, and Walpole St Peter Parish Hall.
Funding for local initiatives through the National Lottery can be applied for through schemes such as the National Lottery Community Fund. There are separate applications for applying for funding under £20,000 and funding over £20,001, both can be found on:

The national Lottery also offer various different grants for different types of community projects such as the Grants for Heritage Scheme (£10k-£250k), the Small Grants Programme (£500-£10,000), Lottery Project Funding, designed by the Arts Council (£10,001-£50,000), the Community Led Grant (£10,000-£150,000), the Improving Lives Grant (£10,000 - £200,000), and many more.
