As part of his focus to support and strengthen the local economy, James Wild MP accepted an invitation to tour Guy-Raymond Engineering’s factory in Kings Lynn.
Guy-Raymond is a significant player locally operating from a cutting-edge 6000-square-metre facility and maintaining a network of agents and distributors worldwide with over 20 millions items despatched every year to over 40 countries worldwide.
Mr Wild toured the factory and met Managing Director, Kelvin Daniels, to learn about the innovative work that Guy-Raymond does and their plans for growth and sustainability. He also spoke to the R&D team about projects and producing high quality innovative products for medical equipment, educational furniture, and offices and agriculture.
Guy-Raymond is a proud family business. Since its foundation in 1948 by Raymond Daniels and Peter Guy Berridge, the business has outgrown two locations and is still being run by the Daniels family today. With over 70 staff, Guy-Raymond are enthusiastic about expanding and offering apprenticeships to local people. This focus aligns with James’ commitment to strengthening the North West Norfolk economy and creating more skilled job opportunities locally.
Speaking after the visit, James said:
“Guy-Raymond is a great example of the growing engineering businesses based in Lynn with a strong focus on exports. By investing in R&D and the latest technology, the company offers skilled local jobs and I welcome their focus on offering apprenticeships.”
