James Wild enjoyed a tour around the fantastic local business, Burn Valley Vineyard.
The brand new winery was completed in summer 2019 and is run by sisters Laura and Sam on the family farm in North Creake. Their brother continues to farm the surrounding land and resident viticulturist, Chris Hatto, gave James a expert tour of all the delicious wines.
The farm is south facing, and is just four miles from the beautiful North Norfolk coast. The soil is free draining and flinty, and the natural stony ground helps to ripen the grapes and the stones provide extra heat for the grapes during the chilly nights.
So far, Burn Valley are growing nine different grape varieties - Early Pinot, Rondo, Regent and Pinot Noir for the reds, and Bacchus, Chardonnay, Solaris, Seyval Blanc and Schonburger for the whites.
