NFU urges arable farmers to complete 2024 Harvest Survey
NFU has urged farmers to complete the 2024 harvest survey, to help industry leaders lobby for a stronger arable sector. The survey which is live until the 29 September, takes a few minutes and allows farmers to share their data in the annual survey,
NFU members can complete the survey at nfu.welcomesyourfeedback.net/s/1g3ys0
The following instructions apply to the survey:
- The target date for returning results for England and Wales is Sunday 29 September 2024
- If your harvest is not completed by the deadline, please give the average yield realised on the area harvested to date
- Please send Rapeseed, Wheat, and Barley results at the earliest opportunity. Your results can be updated (i.e. you can submit further forms) up until the deadline date
- Yield estimates should be based on dried samples. If this is not possible, please make adjustment to give your best estimate of yield on a 14.5% (approximate) moisture content basis for cereals, 9% for oilseeds and 16% for proteins
- Areas planted: record the same areas as you entered on your 2024 June Census return
- All figures must be in metric units, i.e. tonnes and hectares.
- To convert to hectares, multiply the area in acres by 0.405
